The shinobi’s eyes widened as he felt his staff slam into the ethereal arm that had appeared at the instant of his strike. It was a strong jutsu, evenly matched with Arata’s own. His staff was firmly locked into the jutsu’s fist.
Akakita leapt forward, seizing at the chance to attack her trapped opponent, either separating him from his staff or landing a serious blow. A good attempt—but futile. With a burst of strength, flipped himself around the staff to dodge Akakita’s blow. He had been right: even with an element of surprise on her side, she was not in the same league as he and Yasumon. The monk was correct. Had he not managed to catch Arata’s blow with his defensive jutsu, Akakita would have been dead.
As his staff was wrenched free from Yasumon’s grasp, Arata leapt back a few paces from his opponent. The head monk was a man deserving of his respect and no small amount of wariness.
“Your reputation proceeds you just as much, Lord Yasumon,” Arata said with a respectful, though tense, bow. “And I see there was no exaggeration about your strength, either.”
He listened to the other man’s plea. His opponent was wise, and compassionate, which somehow made his crimes of supporting Itsuki that much worse. Yasumon would plead for his own students to be spared—but not for the countless people Itsuki had murdered, oppressed, and betrayed. A coward’s wisdom. At least he was aware of his guilt.
“I am here because of broken promises, Lord Yasumon, and you would ask me to make promises of safety to those who continue to fight for the one who betrayed my clan and killed my family?” He could feel his rage bubbling up under the surface yet again. “No. I will assure you of only one thing: none of your students will have a worse punishment than you, who continue to support an unjust lord. Surrender, and you save not only yourself but every one of your students. Fight, and you forfeit not only your life but all of theirs as well. The choice is yours to make, not mine.”
The Namikaze readied his staff, easing into a warrior's stance. The message was clear: he was ready to fight, should the monk fail to surrender.

Tokotobasi
The dragon sees fit to swallow the pesky Shinobi in its mouth before turning to the feline on its back and dealing with that problem. But as Arata's blade sinks into its Uvula. The plan suddenly changes to vomiting him up in a large wave of lava-like spew. As Ginneko's claws strike again the Dragon roars but seemingly not in pain like before. The large cat would find itself very quickly no longer standing on something solid as the Dragon disappeared beneath his paws. The remnants of its form drifting into the Fire temple and out of sight.
Yasumon + Akakita
The wind blows through the temple again causing the clothing of those caught in the stand-off to rustle and billow. Though the sounds of battle still raged around them, their focus drowned it into silence. There was nothing but the fight in front of them. Yasumon closes his eyes once more as he contemplates Kuroda's words. "I was told you enjoyed your speeches." He smiles softly, as if he was sharing a joke only with himself. "Of course, being a good orator is important, and something many forget in positions of leadership." He compliments with a small gesture of his hand. He wanted to make it clear that though they found themselves as foes. He had no animosity towards them. "But I am sorry, much as it may hurt me. I swore an oath those many years ago. To the seat of the Daimyo, and to this temple. I cannot let it fall willingly, I hope you understand." His gaze meets the Uchiha's, and for a moment Kuroda can see how tired the old monk looks. His eyes holding the sadness of a man who feels like his time has passed already.
He blinks and the moment is gone as he turns to Arata, his face turning to a more serious expression as the Namikaze brings forth his policy of no mercy. Recompense for those that had been slaughtered. "My brothers and sisters did not kill your kin, Lord Namikaze. We are bound to the Daimyo's rule, true enough, but if you asked any of them why the Namikaze disappeared. They would all tell you what the government has told them." He casts his eyes down for a moment. "I am sure Itsuki offered you no surrender, but say that he had. Say that he would spare your clan as long as you surrendered your homes and land to him. Forgo the centuries of tradition that your ancestral home held. Would you accept such a surrender?" He asks the question and offers no such answer. Hoping at least that Arata would understand why the Monks were fighting. It wasn't from some devout loyalty to the Daimyo. It was because their home was under siege.
Finally, Yasumon's gaze comes to settle on Yōsuru and his brow furrows slightly. "I will speak honestly, and say I do not understand what your stake in all this is. Yōsuru of the Shin. Your people have often kept to themselves. Seeking self-preservation at every turn. Why are you here, so far from home?" The monk shakes his head and sighs. "I suppose it matters not. This conflict will be ended but one way." He turns his eyes to Kuroda again. "If you would curry me one favour. Burn my corpse here, so I may join the spirits of fire."
"Tokotobasi! Shard of my essence! It is time for you to return to me. I require your service once more." A roar from the distance as the Dragon vanishes into an explosion of fire and the essence of the flame flows into Yasumon. His eyes igniting into an emberous orange glow as his skin cracks with an almost magma-like texture. "You do battle now with Yasumon, Sage of Fire!"
His power increased, A spectral statue of a flaming deity manifests behind him. Bringing its many arms down on Arata.
As this occurs Akakita swings at once of Arata's birds. Hoping to bring it down while it's distracted.

Yagura's blade strikes true, splitting flesh and cleaving through into the dragon's throat muscles even as it attempts to swallow him whole!
"Oh to Hell with you!" Yagura snarls, sputtering as hot blood splatters him, fighting against the gesticulating muscles attempting to slide him into the beast's gullet. "You can't kill me that easily!!"
Suddenly, it started getting hot. MUCH hotter. Yagura blinks as light suddenly meets his eyes in the dark, the beast's throat now widening - making way for a rush of blazing lava!! Thinking on the spot, Yagura pulls the stone greatsword out of the wound, and plants his feet against its broad side! The searing lava shoves Yagura out of the Dragon's mouth, burning his clothes and searing his arms and legs! Suddenly, the great creature was gone - leaving only Yagura and Ginneko to plummet to the ground!
Yagura was saved a bone snapping crash into the wall only by Ginneko's long body, reaching out to grab a tuft of fur as they fall. Yagura slips off Ginneko, slamming onto the wall and rolling into one of the archer posts. The room was empty, save for an Uchiha body among the dead archers of the Daimyo's army. Grunting, Yagura pulls himself over to an open space, panting with exhaustion. He manages to lean over the ledge, just as the flames erupt around the elderly Head Monk.
Yagura's eyes widen - and he heaves a heavy sigh.
"...They can't take that... Not just them..." he grunts. Yagura's eyes shift, his Sharingan falling upon the younger Monk - a woman who appeared to be attacking one of the summoning beasts. "...If I'm gonna go down... I'm not going down bleeding against the wall..!"
Yagura had a choice to make. He needed to give his allies the best chance at victory that he could.
"Damn that Daimyo..." Yagura grunts. He rises to his feet, and slaps his hands together to form several ninjutsu signs. He stamps his feet, and a new greatsword rises out of the wall, and he grasps its hilt. "Kuroda... Hana... I hope you two send that Daimyo bastard to Hell! I'll be waiting for him!"
His decision made, Yagura leaps from the wall, his Sharingan blazing red - and drops over Akakita!!
"Don't underestimate the Uchiha!!" Yagura shouts, his battle cry a great bellow for all to hear, and brings his stone blade crashing down at Akakito's torso!
Ginneko, having seen to Yagura's safe landing, rushes past Kuroda!
"Ssshaa!! Your flames do not frighten the Great Ginneko!!" it hisses, claws extending! Ginneko lashes at the flame blanketed Yasumon!
Hana watches in awe at the sight of the Dragon changing form, and being drawn into Yasumon. A great blaze erupts all around the man, searing the very air around them! Her breath caught, and she clutches at her breastplate as Yasumon displayed a level of power Hana could only describe as legendary.
A hand falls on her shoulder, and she starts. She looks at the source; Kuroda. His face was set in grim determination.
"Hana - Support me." Kuroda requests of her. Hana's eyes widen, and then she nods in understanding.
"I am here with you, Kuroda. Always." she says firmly. She knew this strategy - it was one she and Kuroda had practiced many a time. The question was - would it work against Yasumon? No, against such a foe as this, there was only one thing to do. She begins weaving signs in the same instant as Kuroda. She claps her hands together, and thrusts them forth - creating a massive gale of wind in the form of a tornado to form! The tornado bears down not at Yasumon - but at Akakito!! "Wind Release - Great Gale!!"
Kuroda finishes his own signs, and leans forward, his cheeks puffing up as he pushes out a rapid fire of attacks! Fire balls rush forth, taking aim at Yasumon - but also merging into Hana's tornado! The flames are sucked into the twisting winds, transforming the tornado into a blazing twister that rapidly closes on Akakito!! "Fire Release: Phoenix Flower Jutsu!!"
It was a simple, but necessary tactic. Take out Yasumon's support, before Yasumon could take out their support. And with Yagura's blade falling upon Akakito along with the blazing tornado, there was little doubt that the young monk would be greatly harmed, if not outright defeated. The hope? That Ginneko could either land its attack, or at least distract the mighty Yasumon.

"Did anyone have 'Monk summons fire incarnate to shuffle us off this moral coil' on their bingo card? No?..." Yōsuru watches the gargantuan ethereal manifest in front of all of them and sighs to himself. "If I make it another decade I better get some cool secret ability to terrify everyone with." His serpentine form allowed him to still be able to make jokes despite their dire situation. His emotional state far removed from the present danger to all of them.
That all changed as the flaming fists rose up and came hurtling down towards one very specific target. Arata Namikaze, though no-one could argue an incredibly skilled Shinobi, all the same would be decently fried by such a powerful looking strike. And Yōsuru got the feeling even the man's insane speed wouldn't be fast enough here. Time seemed to go in slow motion. The inner serpent telling him to ignore Arata, that if he couldn't survive it he wasn't going to be much help anyway. That their own survival was paramount.
But Yōsuru couldn't ignore it. His slitted eyes flicked over to the Namikaze lord once more. 'Hells...' He thinks to himself. 'There's still plenty of Shin left in the world. Not many Namikaze.' He expels the natural energy from his body in a bright flash and calls on latent power in his legs to blitz forward in to Arata, shoving the man hard and away from the point of impact with nary a second to spare.
No smart comment could be said as the flames engulfed the Shin clan head. Shattering his underarmour and scorching his clothes to rags as parts of his skin sizzled and reddened. He couldn't breathe as the heat surrounded him. Then, in an instant that felt like a lifetime. The attack subsided. Yōsuru breathed in a pained gasp and fell to his knees, a few small sparks arcing from his fingers into the ground as he tried to unblur his vision. "Don't...say I...never did...anything...nice for you..." He croaks out to Arata.

“Whether you accept it or not, you were given a choice,” Arata replied coldly to the monk. “And the consequences fall upon you either way.”
The words were scarcely out of his mouth when Yasumon burst into flames, a multi-armed figure exploding to life behind him. Arata felt his legs tense, but already the flames were diving towards him, fiery hands reaching out to crush him. The attack was too sudden, too overwhelming. He flipped out of the first arm’s reach, but already three more were moving to intercept him in midair. “Shi—!” He hissed, arms raising instinctively to protect himself.
And then, out of nowhere, he was thrown aside. No flames descended on him, no burns colored his arms. “What?” he muttered, looking up to see where Yōsuru had taken his place. The Namikaze was on his feet in an instant, running toward the fallen Shin. “No! No, no, no…” he began to repeat, stumbling toward his fallen ally.
His family had died because of the mistakes of his youth. He had led countless others to their deaths in the pursuit of revenge, and now another friend had been struck down because of Arata’s failures.
He arrived at Yōsuru’s body a split second later and breathed a soft sigh of relief. The Shin was still alive, it seemed. Burnt, and certainly worse for the wear, but alive. Thank goodness. Arata prayed.
“You idiot…Why would you do that?” He shook his head, eyes filled with concern and gratitude. He had thought he was ready to sacrifice whatever it would take to finally strike back against Itsuki. It seemed that he might have been lying to himself.
And there it was: the difference between him and Yasumon. The old monk had asked whether, if given the option, he would have surrendered the Namikaze lands and traditions to Itsuki in order to save his people. A fair question. Once, Arata would have answered that any sacrifice was worth maintaining those things. Now, though...
He took up a defensive stance over the Shin, giving Yōsuru time to recover. Yasumon, wreathed in flames, was still a threat. He pointed his staff at the head monk.
“Don’t confuse buildings and traditions with the lives of your people, you old fool! I would have surrendered those lands a hundred times over, if given the choice. Even now, I only fight because we would be wiped out otherwise. I’ll give you one last chance: surrender!”
_____
At the same time, in the skies above the battlefield, the sharp-eyed Hikari spotted Akakita’s attack as it flew toward the old harbinger. He had no love for the old crone. She always smelled of death and on-coming storms, and her eyes were always set on the horizon. She was odd, to say the least, and far too round-about in her way of speech—and yet, he would not see his kin fall. Especially not to some coward’s attack.
In a screeching dive, he intercepted Akakita’s attack with his own, the static in his wings bursting forth in a thunderous explosion. The young monk hit hard, though, and Hikari felt the blow break through his own, slamming into Kurayami behind him.

Yasumon
It took a few moments for the smoke to clear, and when in the sooty wreckage Yasumon saw that not only had his target survived the onslaught, his target wasn't even the same man. The old monk raises his flaming eyebrows in a show of mild surprise. "A self-sacrificing Shin. Now I have seen everything. A pity it cost you your stolen power." Deeming Yosuru a neutralised threat for now his attention turned to the other combatants. It seemed Arata was still shaking off his surprise while Akakita kept his birds busy, which meant Yasumon...
A silvery flash of claws cut through his contemplation, but the empowered monks reflexes were faster than even a cat's wild instincts. He quickly sidesteps the slash and with a blazing push sends the creature flying into Yagura Uchiha, who had just finished cutting a chunk out of the junior monk with his earthen blade.
As the feline and the fellow occupied the same space Yasumon formed handseals that would be eerily familiar in sequence to Kuroda. Only with a few extras on the end. Yasumon inhales and with an ear-splitting roar fire ignites the air and hurtles towards the great beast. Threatening to incinerate it.
This attack leaves him open to a combined retort from Kuroda and his wife as some small yet blindingly fast fireballs strike him and cause him to recoil backwards slightly before digging his feet in. For a moment, he looked at the two Uchiha, and then his gaze fell upon Arata again. The old man opened his mouth for a moment as if to speak, but thought better of it. The man was set on his choices now, saying any more would cause only grief and rage.
So the monk held his tongue and regained his footing. His eyes watching over the ensuing battle. Falling for a moment on his student, whom was suffering from multiple injuries now. "Run child...this is too much for you." He sternly warns.
Akakita
The young girl swung with a yell of passion towards one of the birds. Her strike somewhat slowed by the painful intervention of lightning but still landing somewhat firmly. She could be proud of herself for that, even if she wasn't overly keen on hitting animals. She shakes her fist gently to alleviate the numb pain as suddenly new pain would enter her shoulder in the form of a sharp earthen blade slashing into her. She yelps with pain and fear and recoils as fireballs pelt her and sear her flesh, leaving her badly wounded and cowering. She raises a hand in surrender, trembling. "Mercy, please...I yield!"

Yagura's stone blade fell upon the young monk, carving a gash across her form just before Hana and Kuroda's combined attack crashes upon the monk as well. Yagura had leapt back to avoid getting burned himself, which causes the lacerations across his body from the dragon's bite to bleed a bit more insistently. His body ached terribly as a result, and he was beginning to feel cold.
The young woman pleads, and surrenders. Just like that, one of the more powerful Monk defenders was neutralized.
"...I... Accept you surrender..." Yagura says, breathing heavily. "You'll have to... come with me.... to the holding area where... we keep others that surrender... We'll get your... wounds seen to..."
But just as Yagura begins to lower his stone blade and reach out with his other hand, Ginneko's large form comes flying towards him! Spotting it only because his Sharingan was still active, Yagura only had time to look at the massive form before it collided with him! Yagura is sent flying himself, and crashes hard through a stone bird bath! Yagura rolls several times, almost skidding across the courtyard, and rams back first against the towering wall.
At first, Yagura is too stunned to react... and then, he saw it. A shard of his own stone blade, shattered at the earlier impact, stuck out of his chest, and his dark clothes were growing darker around the shard... Ginneko faired little better; as the beast just barely begins to stand, a massive fireball crashes into it!
With a pained cry, Ginneko's fur catches aflame, and the beast suddenly vanishes in a large burst of smoke, returning to the place where it had been summoned from....
Kuroda and Hana had watched this - and Hana shouts in agonized sadness at the loss of Yagura. A loss they now knew was a certainty. Kuroda, his shoulders shaking, glares at the elder Monk. Now, they would offer no further chances for surrender. Yasumon had ignored every attempt from Arata and Kuroda to stand down, and now he had killed Yagura, and maimed Ginneko. But... they couldn't go to Yagura; not while their enemy still stood.
Kuroda steps forward, ahead of Hana, forming his own signs. He blew flames at the ground, which encircle Kuroda, acting as a blazing wall between himself and Yasumon.
"You're determined to die, rather than surrender. So be it, Yasumon." Kuroda says darkly. Hana puts her hands together, and allows her Sharingan to deactivate, allowing her to begin focusing on recovering her chakra reserves for the hard fight ahead...

Despite the searing pain Yōsuru manages to keep a smile on his face, although it starts to become more of a grimace as the initial shock passes and he starts to feel the state of his body more and more. It takes him a second to even focus on Arata, the vision slowly unblurring as he breathes in gently. "I have a...flair for the dramatic..." He jokes, wincing as he coughs and tries to stand. "Argh...nope, gonna need a second." He sees both Ginneko and Yagura go flying, but cannot see the aftermath from his position. Though it is abundantly clear that things are not going in their favour.
"Arata...I took that for you because Kuroda's not going to be able to do this alone. Not just this fight, but what comes afterwards..." He coughs again as he draws a long scroll from under his robes and rolls it out. He slices his thumb on a kunai and presses it against the words on the parchment. In a puff of smoke a blade appears, masterfully crafted from ancient metals not of this world. It shines with an obsidian edge but an admantine sturdiness.
"Hoped this might come in handy so I took it out of the armoury. Give him a good stab for me, I'll be up in a sec." He makes his request as he passes the blade to Arata.

HP: 509 | Chakra: 12 (-15, +7) | Regen: 7/post TAGS: Yōsuru Shin NOTES: Arata felt the sword in his grasp. Where had Yosuru gotten such a weapon? The steel was laced with some sort of chakra—some sort of energy, at least—which gave it the feeling of being almost alive. It was as though the very blade wanted to leap out of his hand and slice into his opponent. “Yos—what is this thing?” the Namikaze muttered to himself, slightly surprised. The Shin must have had quite the armory, if this was part of the collection.
His eyes fell upon Kuroda and Hana, each of which had a shadow across their face. His friends—hurt and agonizing. His other friend, Yagura, was gone. Yosuru wasn’t far behind him. He stepped forward, casting his staff aside. Gripping the sword in two hands, he spoke harshly: “Enough.”
He felt the chakra within him reach a boiling point. With a hiss of steam, it escaped his lungs. Snaking tendrils of wind chakra reached out, swirling around his arms and up the Kusanagi blade.
He glanced over at Kuroda and gave a slight nod. Now was the time. Yasumon was too strong for them to win a war of attrition—too blessed by chakra for them to exhaust him. They would need to strike hard, before more casualties stacked up. With a quick peek to the skies, he saw the falcons weren’t fully recovered. It would have to do.
“YASUMON!!!” he bellowed, dashing forward at his top speed—the blade driving out in front of him. In an instant, he was in front of the head monk, the Kusanagi blade swinging down upon him.
--
At the same time, Hikari had not misread the signs of the hunt. “Old Hag!” He screeched, throwing a sharp eye toward the ancient falcon behind him. When targeting larger prey, many talons needed to bite. His would rip into the monk’s flesh—and Kurayami’s should too! With a screech, he fell down upon the fire-cloaked monk. Lightning built up around every one of Hikari’s feathers, sparking and leaping out ahead of the bird.
Meanwhile, the crone had fallen behind. Her wings expanded as wide as they could, and it seemed as though she were waiting for something..

Yasumon
Despite the Monk's blazing exterior and flaming skin there was still the telltale signs of contemplative emotion splashed across his face momentarily. Was it remorse? Regret? Something else? Some flickering of thought at the very least as he saw Yagura Uchiha impaled just nearby. Whatever he felt it quickly passed, and his expression returned to one of fiery determination. He could feel the anger of those he faced, but in his mind if they had expected to attack one of the most fortified areas in the Land of Fire and suffer no losses then there was sheer naivety at play here.
His ears pricked up as he heard the sound of swishing steel just to his left, and not wanting to take his eye off his other foes he allowed his many fiery limbs to conjure a defensive wall of fire to do away with whatever attack was heading his way. But the Monk's folly was not taking note of every little detail in this fight. The blade that threatened him was no ordinary one. And as soon as the Fires were called up the sword slashed through them like a hot knife through butter, reducing the extreme heat to nothing as if it was never there to begin with. The Monk's eye turned to his assailant a moment to late as the blade struck. Shattering Yasumon's personal defenses and cutting a gash down his chest. A wound that could've been far worse had he not been adorned in personal armour.
That personal armour was gone now, and the Namikaze's bird was taking full advantage as it sent a sparking wave down towards the monk, striking his cheek before slashing at his arm with its talons. Although they couldn't stay too long due to the oppressive heat. They had served to follow up the strike well.
Yasumon knew he didn't have much longer. He needed to end this decisively. He could see the Uchiha gearing themselves up for another assault. He needed to keep his eyes everywhere. The arms of the form behind him began to shift as he let out a pained grunt and took a deep breath. The orange flames turning a white-blue as the heat intensified further. This fight was reaching a crescendo.
Akakita
In amongst the excitement and drama the junior monk had been left alone. And though it pained her to leave her elder alone and outnumbered she knew she was of no further use. Hoping the attackers would not notice her, she scampers to her feet and attempts a hasty retreat.

This was it - a small opening, and one Kuroda had to capitalize on! He notices the young Monk escaping, and grimaces - she would report to Itsuki, no doubt, that the Temple had been attacked. But whether or not it had been taken by the time the news reaches the Daimyo was the question. While Kuroda had not seen the interaction between Arata and Yōsuru, he does witness its results.
Wielding a Katana, Arata had managed to slash Yasumon! This was the moment!
"Uchiha Formation: A!" Hana belts out, pressing her hands against Kuroda's back. Once more, he felt Hana's chakra swelling within him, strengthening him! "Kuroda! GO!!"
Even as Yasumon's orange flames created yet more arms, and the flames produced by the Head Monk were becoming so intense that paint on the distant walls were beginning to peel off, and the air itself seared at Kuroda and Hana, Kuroda takes his gamble! With a series of fast hand signs, Kuroda takes in a much deeper breath, and leans forward into it! "Fire Release: Great Flame Destruction!!"
Unlike his previous blasts of flame, this blast was much larger! It spreads like a great wave, threatening to consume the Head Monk in its blaze!

Yōsuru watched as the engagement continued. He was being mostly ignored by their foe for now. He could see the logic in that of course. He was essentially out of the fight, and could be dealt with accordingly at any time. His whole body ached, the year he'd spent idling since the war had taken more of a toll than he'd expected. He was a far cry from the terrifying presence he had once been. Now he was just an old man, trying not to die. "Feh...I really have come to rely on ol' Snakeskin far too much. Running on borrowed power and hopes." He criticises himself quietly as his friends struggle on against the flaming monk. With a face hardening to determination, the Shin slowly rises to his feet.
"I can barely do much now, but I'll be damned if I walk away with a merit solely for showing up." He grunts in pain and exertion as he readies himself, sparks of lightning crackling between his fingertips. He could see Arata putting his blade to good work against Yasumon, and his gaze watched carefully for the precise moment that the metal rose at just the right angle.
"Now!" He speaks to himself, raising his arm and shooting forward a small stream of yellow lightning that sparks off the edge of the blade and ricochets towards Yasumon. If it struck true as he hoped, it would serve as a small bit of aid for his allies.

Kurayami, wise as ever, had seen this coming. She knew, of course, that her younger kin couldn’t resist diving into battle. For Hikari, every wound seemed an invitation for the killing blow. Foolishness. Invitations were just as often traps, when fighting against other hunters. And this robed man, wreathed in white-blue flames, was most certainly a hunter. The ancient falcon spread her wings, and chakra burst forth from her body. It would appear to Yasumon as an oncoming storm—dark clouds wrapping about him, thunder deafening his senses. Even surrounded by such bright flames as he was, her genjutsu would blind him to any oncoming attacks. She would turn this hunter into their prey.
-
Arata smirked as the blade bit through the old monk’s armor. The air around the two of them was blisteringly hot, but the blood that now dripped from his sword marked a turning point in the battle. He, Kuroda, and Yosuru had a chance—Yasumon could be beaten. As lightning exploded against the monk, first from Hikari, and seemingly from Yosuru as well, Arata brought the sword back up quickly, driving his elbow up from where his previous stroke had finished. With enough speed, he hoped an uppercut from the hilt could stun the old man. It would only take one good hit to throw him off his balance—and to open him up to far greater damage.
-
Hikari, cackling with joy at his blow landing, wasted no time. The super-heated air around Yasumon had created an updraft, shooting him back into the sky. He hit a point of weightlessness, paused, and turned back around, plummeting toward the monk once again. Lightning coated his wings, leaping out before him. He would strike down the old fool this time!

Despite the blade having sheared through the intense heat of the blazing wall. The fire soon recovered and was burning hot yet again. As such, when the Namikaze went to strike again Yasumon's chakra reinforced the flames, turning them an intense white for a moment to reject the incoming strike. Despite the power, the flames could only hold up so much against the enhanced flames of the Uchiha and though the two forces pushed against one another, soon enough Kuroda's fire engulfed Yasumon's and the incoming flame struck true, knocking the elder monk off balance just long enough for the Falcon to smash into his form again with crackling lightning. For a moment it seemed as if Yasumon would grab the talons of Hikari and send the avian back to whence it came but suddenly the blazing form of the monk halted as a pulse of yellow lightning quickly surged its way through his body. Momentarily disorienting him.
He staggered back, the fire on his body flickering and sputtering for a moment as it seemed he was about to drop. Then suddenly, the statue of Ifrit behind him began to move as if itself conscious. It let out a high pitched screech that pierced the ears of the invading forces as Yasumon seemed to recover himself for a moment. He clapped his hands together as the fire turned from a reddish orange to a pale blue.
The ethereal statue of Ifrit manifested arms, more and more and more as the flames grew hotter. It's form toweing over all others. "Forbidden...art...One thousand hands...of hell!" The monk spoke out through ragged breaths as soon enough the sky seemed to be filled with fire. With powerful arms surging down upon Arata, Hana, Kuroda and Yosuru. A final crescendo.

Kuroda's blast of flames, the strongest in his arsenal of Jutsu, pressed against Yasumon's flames, each blaze pushing back against the other, until at last Kuroda's flames overcame those of the Elder Monk. But it would be far too soon to celebrate, the statue behind Yasumon steps forth and emits a horrific screech that puts Kuroda and Hana on their back heels.
Beyond the walls, those fighting come to a stop, holding their hands over their ears in an attempt to block out the piercing wail. Kuroda grits his teeth as Yasumon's flames intensify, and the statue growing arms, so many arms, in tandem with the intensifying flames of Yasumon. Kuroda's eyes widen as the statue's many arms reel back, and come crashing towards them!
But Kuroda's defenses were still up, and he knew it was now, or never. They had to defeat Yasumon NOW, while there was still a chance!
Before more died.
Kuroda, moves immediately, relying on the power of his Uchiha style flame defenses to protect him. And indeed, as Kuroda ran forth, the flaming fists aimed at him crash upon the blazing barrier around Kuroda - and are themselves consumed. Kuroda's hands were already in motion, and as the Uchiha Clan Leader stood among the white-blue flames of Yasumon, surrounded by his own searing orange and red blaze, Kuroda's eyes were wide with an unshakable determination.
There was nothing to be said. No words to exchange that hadn't already been said. It was time to end this battle, and this act would bring them that much closer to that victory. To do this now would leave him vulnerable against a counter attack, but they couldn't afford to let up the pressure against Yasumon.
Kuroda leans forth, and unleashes a second wave of intense flames at Yasumon!! [[Fire Release: Great Flame Destruction!!]]
Hana had never seen anything like the power being displayed by Yasumon, and the monstrous statue towers over them all, and the flaming fists raining down at them was an awe inspiring thing to witness, even as they were aimed at her. Her chakra reserves were low, though she was not likely to back down now!
The fists slam into her, driving Hana into the ground in a wail of pain as the force of the blows, combined with the searing flames, threaten to overwhelm her. But, when the assault ends, Hana manages to slowly, gingerly, rise back to her feet. Bleeding and burned, Hana pants in exhaustion, but still remains! As Kuroda dove into Yasumon's flames, Hana formed her own hand signs, determined to continue supporting her husband in this battle!
Hana charges at Yasumon, moving to flank the old man from his left side, and kept a wary eye on the now mobile statue. She takes a deep breath - and lets loose a ball of flames at Yasumon!! [[Fire Release: Fireball Jutsu!!]]
