■ Clan Type: Active | Kekkei Genkai ■ Clan Leader: ReservedThe Toramaru clan are a small clan in the Land of Earth, known for their cunning nature and stunning reflexes as well as being fairly brutish in behaviour. All members of this clan are cat-like in appearance, some more then others but all in some way or another, commonly this is shown through the fluffy ears, tail, sharper teeth and feline eyes. The clan values strength and skill and are often hostile to outsiders. Their dojutsu is not overly known but is said to mess with the affinities of their opponents as well as their allies techniques. [BOON] TENKŌGAN Dōjutsu of the Toramaru clan, a honing of instincts and skill that the clan at large prides itself on, which allows them to experience chakra affinities in a more direct way, allowing them to anticipate the use of an affinity they are familiar with. The Tenkōgan can be achieved by clan members at birth, though being able to affect affinities comes with experience in having seen them prior to trying to switch them with another. By default any affinities the player starts with are included as affinities they are familiar with. Once per thread, you can activate the Tenkōgan as a short action by spending four chakra. While the Tenkōgan is activated, you have access to the following abilities:
- Once per thread, add a variant effect to a Genjutsu that you use.
- Three times per thread, target another player when they use a jutsu or item that has an elemental affinity, then change the nature’s damage interactions to match one that you also have access to.
- You must wait 2 posts between each usage before being able to use this ability again, and you cannot switch damage interactions to the same nature twice consecutively.
- This ability will not work on or with Kekkei Tōta.
The Tenkōgan can remain active all throughout a thread or until the user chooses to switch it off, in which case it cannot be turned back on again during the rest of that thread.[BASE] LUCKY CAT Members of the Toramaru clan are known for feats of illusion, as such they have an easier time learning and developing interesting sneaky manoeuvres with various beneficial features. - On character creation, you choose ONE type of Genjutsu effect, it will cost 1 less XP to apply to your Genjutsu from then on.
[BANE] CAT'S GOT YOUR TONGUE: While formidable, the Tenkōgan is not flawless and its ability comes with a price. - After using their Tenkōgan to switch an affinity, you will find yourself temporarily unable to perform jutsu, or even use items that use the same damage type used to swap someone else's during the switch for the same 2 posts it takes for the Dōjutsu to refresh. This is repeated for each time the Tenkōgan's swapping ability is used.

[FACE] Eyes in the Toramaru clan are commonly cat-like, though some are more naturally human then others. All clan members eyes can shift between rounded pupils to slit pupils based on emotional responses. Members can have either white or coloured sclera of any colour. Noses can be cat-like or human though human tends to be more common. Eyebrows vary greatly and while mostly humanoid as well, some tend to appear cat-like in shape. [EARS] Ears are usually either pointier human ears or cat shaped which can be either fluffy or not. The more human-like ears tend to be less common then the cat ones but all ears are on the side of the head just like human ears are as opposed to towards the top of the head like an actual cat. These ears can still twitch and move like cat ears can however and like the eyes tend to move based on emotions as well, i.e. flattening back when angry or upset. Cat ears can be based off any kind of cat from domestic breeds to wild cats as well and so come in all shapes and sizes. [TEETH] Teeth tend to be sharper and longer in the Toramaru clan, it's not uncommon for canine teeth to sit over the top of the top or bottom lip of clan members. When in a fighting spirit features of members tend to change and exaggerate slightly and this includes the teeth, which extend out into saber-like teeth for the duration of their fighting mood, which the clan have dubbed as 'Yamaneko' mode. [Top teeth are casual, bottom row are yamaneko effected saber teeth][TAILS] It is rather rare to find a member of the Toramaru clan without a tail and removal or docking of tails is considered shameful within the clan. Tail sizes, colours and shapes can range just as much as the ears and eyes though if not more though tails tend to always follow similar colour and patterns to the hair and/or skin of the clan member it belongs to. Size and shape can be based off any kind of domestic or wild cats. Tails of clan members tend to react to emotional responses much like the ears and with training can be used to grasp objects. Yamaneko mode is what the Toramaru call their a state during fighting. When in a fight that is passionate enough for a member of the clan they tend to take on more 'feral' features where their claws and teeth grow out, pupils remain as slits and the hair including body hair grows out more in certain places in a more wild and dramatic way. Some clan members also gain a short boost in height. This 'form' is completely in the appearance and offers no ability edge unless tied to techniques of users. The Tenkōgan comes in a small range of colours for users, ranging from blue, green, yellow and orange though it cannot be red, purple or inbetween. This reflects the colours cats eyes give off in light gleams. Users tend to have the dojutsu colour that is opposite to their natural eye colour or closest to it though this is not always the case. The different dojutsu colours hold no difference in ability to each other. The sclera of the eye is always coloured during the dojutsu as well and ranges the same way the eye itself does in colour. Eyes can be paler colours then the examples shown. [Open image in a tab for clearer view] When changing the affinity of an opponents attack or of an allies technique, the users Tenkōgan shows this by the 'pupil' of the dojutsu changing shape to match the symbol of the affinity they're changing it to. For instance if changing a fire attack to water, the pupil will change to a water droplet. Basic affinity switches shown above. ---
