The Funato Clan are seafaring shinobi that make waves out in the open ocean. Typically seen as pirates as they simply do as they please with little heed to others, it would be an ultimately inaccurate claim. In truth, they dole out what they view as justice on the high sea towards those who attack the less fortunate. While that does sometimes end up with them causing more of a mess, they do so with pride. Their philosophy of going with the flow comes from their connection to a force of chakra known as the Sea Dragon; an embodiment of Water based chakra, and it is said to be a lost ninshu art as well. To awaken their connection to the Sea Dragon, Funato Clan members dive deep into the depths of the ocean and once awakened, the body forms gills and webbed digits when in water, making aquatic travel natural and easy.
Clan Features
[BASE] POWER OF THE SEA DRAGON: The Funato Clan pirates are able to awaken the Power of the Sea Dragon by witnessing the deep depths of that which flows below.
- One of your starting affinities must be Water
- Every time anyone in the thread makes a Water Release jutsu, you gain 1 Sea token if it was D-rank, and 1 more token for each rank above D-rank.
- Every time you use a Water Release jutsu, you can decrease the cost by 1 chakra for each Sea token you spend, which can no more than halve its cost. You can have no more than 10 Sea tokens. Jutsu with their costs decreased this way will not give Sea tokens.
- Each time an Earth Release jutsu is used while you have a Sea Token, you lose 1 Sea token if it was D-rank, and 1 more token for each rank above D-rank.
[BASE] BLOOD CONVERSION TECHNIQUE: Some members of the Funato Clan have learnt how to use the water in the blood of their enemies if they need to.
- Twice per thread, as a long action, you can use an attack Water Release jutsu worth 2 x your Ninjutsu or Taijutsu score (your choice). If it hits, it deals damage, and you either:
- Gain health equal to half the damage dealt (rounding down)
OR- Increase the power of your next Water Release ninjutsu or taijutsu by +2x.
