Sai
Basics
■ Clan Type: Passive | Hiden
■ Clan Leader: Open
The Sai Clan, according to their own historians, originated from a lesser group of ninshū practitioners back from when the five sages walked the Earth. They were artists who saw great value in self-expression, usually channelled through visual art, and were attracted to chakra as a novel way to express their spirits. Over many generations, while other clans would turn to combat, turning from ninshū for ninjutsu, the Sai Clan were lucky enough to keep their ways peaceful… for the most part, anyway. In the modern age, the clan is plagued with factionalism and ideological fracture over philosophical differences such as on the value of art or the feasibility of pacifism in an age of war.
Clan Features
[BASE] SUPER BEAST IMITATING DRAWING: Shinobi of the Sai Clan have passed down the strange part of placing their chakra in ink and animating terrifying pictures from their art. Whether it’s powerful warriors, eagles, tigers, or whatever else the user can imagine, the ‘summon’ of a Sai shinobi is a terrifying sight to behold. You start with a free summoning contract, allowing you to summon animated drawing. It has the following trait on top of its chosen traits:
- Drawn to Life: The minion is divided up in three ways as if by the shadow clone jutsu (but following its rules, except in that all divided minions count as clones), creating three smaller minions. You may only have one out at a time, and the others unsummoned. If a clone is defeated, you may summon another clone as a short action.
[BASE] INK TOOLS: Shinobi of the Sai Clan have figured out how to imbue chakra-infused drawings with the weight and power of that which they portray to impressive effect.
- Once per thread, using a short action, you may ‘create’ one non-companion item worth at most 30,000 Ryo. It disappears at the end of the thread, or once its effect is used.
